Moonlight Mushing & Aurora Tour

Two tours in one package! Enjoy a night time 20-30 minutes mushing experience under the aurora or moonlight during the group tour Aurora activity at Aurora Pointe Activity Center.

This tour is a combination moonlight Dog Sled Ride with Paws for Adventure and an Aurora Tour with Aurora Pointe Activity Center. See their website for details of the aurora tour: aurorapointe.net
Dog Sled Ride Details

Rides will begin at 10:15 pm at Trapper Jim’s cabin in front of Aurora Pointe Activity Center, and continue until approximately 12:00 am, with each 30 minute tour running back to back. Two people ride per sled with your musher guide. Arctic Outerwear is provided for the ride, but you must wear your own inner long underwear and fleece layers to stay warm on your ride. A heavy blanket is offered to cover you in the sled. Weight limit per sled is 450 lbs. If your combined weight is higher than 450 lbs. you must book 2 sleds. A surcharge of $50 will apply per single rider.

This is an active tour – all participants should be able to comfortably sit upright with legs extended for the duration of the tour (20-30 mins) and have some tolerance for cold weather. Anyone with back or leg issues may experience discomfort with this activity – please ask if you have questions. We also don’t recommend the tour for young children (under 6).

Mushing Tours will begin at 10:15pm and you will take your turn based on the order in which you signed up. Tours will depart every 30-45 mins. Number of teams will depend on number of guests signed on.

Please note: This tour requires a minimum total of 6 registrants in order to run. If your preferred date does not meet the requisite number of guests, we will reach out to you prior to your tour to offer an alternate tour time/date if one is available. If the tour is unable to run and your group cannot attend an alternate time, we will refund your deposit in full.

Moonlight Mush & Aurora Tour Single Rider Policy

*(Please note: This applies only to individuals booking alone, not to groups with an odd number of participants.)*

We do welcome single riders! However, since our sleds are designed for two people and have a close, shared seating arrangement, we are unable to pair solo guests with other individuals.

To ensure our guides are fairly compensated and each sled is adequately booked, single riders will be charged the full cost of the sled, which is equivalent to two riders. This tour also has a *minimum group size of six guests in *order to run. If you are booking as a single rider, we’ll be happy to work with you to find a date that already has other guests scheduled. If you’d like to book online, simply select “2 riders” when booking your tour.

Cancellation Policy
A 50% deposit is due to book. A full refund will be issued on cancellations made more than two weeks prior to tour. You will receive a 50% refund (of deposit – 25% of total) for cancellation made less than 2 weeks prior to your tour). No refunds will be issued on cancellations made within 48 hours of an originally scheduled tour. Tour date/time may be changed at any time free of charge provided space is available. A full refund will be given for any weather conditions that prevent us from providing the tour.
